Surface Options
Materials chosen with intention.
We'll help you weigh look, durability, and maintenance — then see the real slab before deciding.

Quartz
Engineered for consistency and everyday durability, in a wide range of looks.
Natural Stone
Granite, marble, and quartzite — each slab unique, chosen in person.
Porcelain
Thin, resilient, heat- and UV-friendly surfaces for modern spaces.
The Details
Considered in every cut.
The difference between a good countertop and a great one is in the planning. We sweat the details so the surface reads effortless.
Material Selection
Color, finish, and movement chosen with guidance — matched to your space and light.
Edge Profiles
Eased, beveled, mitered, bullnose, and waterfall edges to suit the look.
Sink Cutouts
Undermount, drop-in, and workstation cutouts fabricated to the sink and reveal.
Layout Planning
Slabs laid out for grain, color flow, and the cleanest possible use of material.
Seam Planning
Seams placed with intention — discreet, supported, and built to last.
Field Verification
Measured on-site after cabinets are set, so the fit is exact.
Edge Profiles
The edge is where craftsmanship shows.
Every countertop gets its edge shaped, polished, and finished in our shop. These are the profiles we cut — from clean and modern to classic and sculpted.
Standard Eased Edge
A crisp square edge with the sharpness gently softened. Clean, modern, and the most popular choice.
Beveled Edge
A flat 45° chamfer along the top — a subtle catch of light that reads tailored and architectural.
Half Bullnose
The top of the edge rolls over in a smooth curve while the bottom stays square — soft but grounded.
Full Bullnose
A fully rounded edge, top to bottom. Comfortable, classic, and friendly in busy kitchens.
Ogee
The classic S-curve — a sculpted, traditional profile that suits detailed cabinetry beautifully.
Rockface
A hand-chiseled, natural broken-stone face. Rustic texture that celebrates the material itself.
Mitered Edge
Stone wrapped down the face at a 45° seam for a thick, monolithic look — the modern statement edge.
Laminated Edge
Two layers bonded into one double-thick edge — substantial presence without a full-thickness slab.
Finishes & Textures
One stone, many surfaces.
The same color reads completely differently depending on its finish. Suppliers use different names for similar finishes — here's how they group, so you can compare apples to apples.
Polished
Smooth, shiny, and highly reflective. Deepens the stone's color and highlights veining and crystal structure.
Honed / Matte
Smooth with little to no reflection. Creates a softer, more muted appearance than polished stone.
Satin / Low-Sheen
Smooth with a subtle sheen, generally falling between honed and polished. Some proprietary versions may have a very fine tactile texture.
Leathered / Brushed
A softly textured finish, typically created with abrasive brushes. It may have subtle dimpling and a slight sheen while retaining much of the stone's natural color.
Specialty Finishes
Less-common decorative or heavily textured finishes — caressed, river-washed, flamed or thermal, flamed-and-brushed, sandblasted, bush-hammered, tumbled, natural-cleft, split-face, sawn, and acid-washed. These are often material- or application-specific.

Why Mill & Mason
From the slab to the last seam — one team.
We don't hand your job between a stone yard and an installer. We help you choose the slab, fabricate it, and set it ourselves — so the seams, edges, and fit are ours to get right.
