Volga Blue
Volga Blue is quarried in Ukraine (notably around Kamenniy Brod), worked since the late 1960s. It is a very coarse-grained, dark blue-gray anorthosite/labradorite, an igneous rock whose feldspar crystals flash iridescent blue when light catches them (labradorescence). The name pairs the regional Volga association with the stone's signature electric-blue glints against a near-black ground. Stone reads differently in person — full slabs vary in movement and tone from any single swatch, so we'll pull the actual slab for you to see before anything is cut.
