Quartzite
Crytos
Crytos is a Brazilian quartzite carried by MSI, quarried in Brazil and recognizable by a black backdrop scattered with multicolored pops of terracotta, graphite, and blush tones. Geologically it is a quartzite, formed when a quartz-rich sandstone recrystallized under deep heat and pressure into a stone harder than granite and highly resistant to scratching and acid etching. 'Crytos' is a coined trade name with a crystalline, exotic feel rather than a geographic reference. Stone reads differently in person — full slabs vary in movement and tone from any single swatch, so we'll pull the actual slab for you to see before anything is cut.
