Quartzite
Belvedere
Belvedere is a quartzite that MSI sources from Italy, distinguished by a deep jet-black background with dramatic gold veining. As a quartzite it began as a quartz-rich sandstone that recrystallized under heat and pressure into a stone harder than granite, giving it excellent resistance to scratches and acid etching. The Italian name 'Belvedere' ('beautiful view') is a fitting trade name for the stone's striking black-and-gold contrast. Stone reads differently in person — full slabs vary in movement and tone from any single swatch, so we'll pull the actual slab for you to see before anything is cut.
