Quartzite
Tahiti
Tahiti is a Brazilian quartzite quarried in Brazil and sold widely in the US, known for a light creamy-white base with wavy beige, brown, and gray veining. As a quartzite it formed when an ancient quartz sandstone recrystallized under heat and pressure into a hard, dense, non-porous stone with strong resistance to scratching and acid etching, exceeding granite in hardness. The name 'Tahiti' evokes a relaxed, tropical-island feel rather than a geographic source. Stone reads differently in person — full slabs vary in movement and tone from any single swatch, so we'll pull the actual slab for you to see before anything is cut.
