Quartzite
Kalahari
Kalahari is a Brazilian quartzite carried by MSI, mined in Brazil's mountainous regions and known for a blend of creamy beiges with a refined, understated look. Despite its desert-evoking name, the stone is a true quartzite formed when quartz-rich sandstone recrystallized under heat and pressure into a dense, interlocking quartz matrix that is harder and more scratch- and etch-resistant than granite. The 'Kalahari' name evokes the warm, sandy tones of the African desert rather than the stone's Brazilian origin. Stone reads differently in person — full slabs vary in movement and tone from any single swatch, so we'll pull the actual slab for you to see before anything is cut.
